Dr. Jonathan Ng is a local Brisbane boy, completing his high school education at Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) and eventually graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours). Over the years he has pursued his interest in dental implantology through further postgraduate training. Dr. Ng has completed a one-year implant externship program with New York University, and holds a Graduate Diplomate in Dental Implantology from the Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology and a Masters in Advanced Dental Implantology with Aston University.
Dr. Jonathan’s passion in implant dentistry is further supported by his Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advances in the field and completes more than 300 hours of education annually on dental implantology. Dr Jonathan has received extensive training from renowned leaders in soft and hard tissue reconstructions such as Otto Zuhr, Istvan Urban, Marius Steigmann, Hom Lay-Wang, Michael Pikos, Daniel Buser, Dennis Tarnow and Stephen Chu. Dr Jonathan is very passionate in aesthetic and digital dentistry, and enjoys pioneering new technologies in the dental industry to achieve more efficient and cost effective solutions for patients especially in the 3D printing space.
Dr Jonathan is also a Key Opinion Leader for two major international Dental Implant brands: Osstem Implants and DIO Implants. Dr Jonathan lectures both nationally and internationally and has been a keynote speaker for several symposiums involving more than 100+ dentists. He also speaks for industry companies such as 3Shape, Straumann, Geistlich and Southern Implants.
Dr Jonathan strongly believes in guiding his patients to fully understand all the treatment options and achieving something that is in the best interest of the patient’s dental health and longevity. Being a natural educator, he enjoys breaking complex dental topics and options down to educational bites to ensure all patients understand treatment options presented. He enjoys thinking both creatively and critically to tailor a dental plan that suits each individual.
Dr. Jonathan is also an active member of several professional organizations including the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the International Team of Implantologists (ITI), the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry (ASID), the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI), and is acting as the Federal President for the Australia Osseointegration Society (AOS).
When away from teaching and the clinic, Dr Jonathan loves to play tennis, pickleball and drive on a Formula 1 simulator. Being a huge tennis and Roger Federer fan, you might catch him at the local tennis club trying to imitate Federer’s slick moves. He also enjoys snowboarding, watching action and sci-fi movies, and eating with his mates.
