Dr Christina Shin, BDSc

Dr Christina Shin was born in South Korea and moved to New Zealand as a baby, where she spent her childhood and youth. Her professional journey began in Brisbane, where she studied pharmacy at the University of Queensland and became a registered pharmacist. While pharmacy provided a strong scientific and clinical foundation, Dr Christina realised her true passion lay beyond medications and protocols. She wanted more than brief interactions – she wanted to truly connect with people.

This drive led her to pursue dentistry at the University of Queensland, a field where science, precision, and creativity meet human impact. For Dr Christina, dentistry is about creating trust, connecting with patients and transforming lives one smile at a time. Her career reflects a bold willingness to evolve in pursuit of purpose – choosing a path where she doesn’t just treat patients, but connects with them, empowers them and helps them feel confident.
Her dental experience spans both metropolitan and regional settings. Working in Brisbane refined her efficiency and clinical breadth, while practising in regional areas such as Toowoomba deepened her appreciation for continuity of care and strong patient relationships. These experiences have shaped her into a well-rounded dentist who combines technical skill with genuine, patient-centred connection.
